The first week of July I participated in the Summer Biannual Bibliothon. I was in a major blogging slump so I didn’t post a TBR but I did read. Bout of Book 16 Wrap Up

Hey Bookends,

Last week I participated in the Bout of Books 16 (TBR here) and I would like to share what I read with you guys, I am really proud of what I was able to accomplish this read-a-thon even if I didn’t finish my whole TBR. Anyway here is my wrap-up.

Day 1- This day was a regular school day. I think I read for about an hour and a half, I did end up taking an hour nap that night in which I could have read more but that’s ok.

  • 104  pages of Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott

Day 2- Another day of school however I was able to read a good bit when I came home

  • 62 pages Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott

Total: 166 pages

Day 3- Now I am really ashamed about this day. I had an AP exam in the morning however I got home at one and could have read all afternoon. Instead I slept all afternoon. Therefore I didn’t finish anything that day.

Day 4- Another day of school but I was able to get a lot of reading done that afternoon after school.

  • 121 pages of Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott (Finished)
  • 32 pages of The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry

Total: 319 pages

Day 5- This day was the same as all the others. A day of school with some reading when I returned home.

  • 68 pages of The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry

Total: 387 pages

Day 6- I did have work in the afternoon of this Saturday but I was able to read a lot before and after my shift.

  • 136 pages of The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry

Total: 523 pages

Day 7- I had nothing to do all day, my goal was to read at every possible moment, and that is what I did.

  • 154 pages of The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry (Finished)
  • 83 pages of Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Total: 760 pages

So that was it for this read-a-thon. Even though I didn’t truly complete my TBR I am pretty proud of myself except for Wednesday, when  I didn’t read anything. I would love to know what books you read if you participated. Thanks for reading. You can friend me on goodreads and Instagram to see what I am reading daily.

Bout of Books 16 TBR

Hey Bookends,

I am planning on participating in the Bout of Books 16!!! This is a read-a-thon which I have participated in many times and have truly enjoyed. In case you haven’t participated in the read-a-thon here is the blurb from the site:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 9th and runs through Sunday, May 15th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 16 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

So I will be hopefully reading four books through out the week.

  • Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M Elliott
  • The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry
  • Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
  • Tiger’s Voyage by Colleen Houck

So those are my plans for this read-a-thon. I would love to know if you are planning on participating, and if so what books you are reading. Follow me on goodreads and Instagram to see what I am reading daily. Thanks for reading!!

Spring Into Horror Read-a-thon Wrap-Up/ Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon Wrap-Up

Hey Bookends,

Sorry this is a little late but I wanted to tell you guys what I read during the Spring Into Horror read-a-thon (TBR) and the Dewey’s 24 Hour read-a-thon (TBR). Since Dewey’s occurred during the week of Spring Into Horror I thought it would be a lot simpler to just combine these two wrap-ups. I was planning on reading four books through out the read-a-thon and finished one that was on my TBR and got halfway through another one. I was proud of how much I was reading through the week however I believe I could have read a lot more on the weekend. I am not going to beat myself up about it though. I really enjoyed the read-a-thons and can wait to participate in more.

Day 1- So I started off the day by finishing a book that I was currently reading. I didn’t have too many pages left so I figured I would get it out of the way.

  • 47 pages of Trigger Warning by Neil Gain (Finished)
  • 80 pages of Station Eleven by Emily Mandel

Total- 127 pages

Day 2- This was a pretty normal day, I was able to just read for about an hour.

  • 79 pages Station Eleven by Emily Mandel

Total- 206 pages

Day 3- So on this day I found out that I had an in depth paper due the next day, so not as much reading was accomplished.

  • 23 pages of Station Eleven by Emily Mandel

Total- 229 pages

Day 4- Again a pretty normal day with about an hour to read.

  • 78 pages of Station Eleven by Emily Mandel

Total- 307 pages

Day 5- Now this day I should have been able to read a lot more because it was a Friday, however I had to work until 9 at night so I went to bed about an hour after I got home.

  • 76 pages of Station Eleven by Emily Mandel (Finished)

Total- 383 pages

Day 6-  This is the day of the Dewey read-a-thon, and I failed. I did have to work but I made a plan to wake up early, read some, go to work, and then read some more when I got home. This was not the case. I only read a little bit when I got home. Most of the time I was sleeping.

  • 62 pages of Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Total- 445 pages

Day 7- Finally my last day of the read-a-thon. Again, I could have read so much more, especially since I was just sitting around all day. But I did read more than any other day so I won’t be so hard on myself.

  • 180 pages of Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Total- 625 pages

So even though I only read half of my TBR I am pretty proud of what I accomplished. I hope you enjoyed this update and I would love to know what you read if you participated. Follow me on goodreads and Instagram  to see what I am reading (and get sneak peaks on how I am doing on read-a-thons). Thank you for so much for reading this.

#TBRTakedown 3.5 Wrap-Up

Hey bookends,

I know this is a little late but I would like to tell you guys about what I during the #TBRTakedown 3.5. I know I had 4 books on my TBR ( you can see this TBR here) but I completely failed at this read-a-thon. Being honest I just was not in a mood to read, and I don’t know why. However, I will still post my sad little wrap-up for you guys.

Day 1-

  • 24 pages of Ordinary Grace by William Krueger

Day 2-

  • 38 pages of Ordinary Grace by William Krueger

Day 3-

  • 68 pages of Ordinary Grace by William Krueger

Total- 130 pages

Yeah that was it. It was a perfect weekend to read too because I didn’t have school that Friday. Man I am disappointed. Oh well, I will just do better on my next read-a-thon. Thanks for reading. You can friend me on goodreads and Instagram to see what I am reading daily.

Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-thon TBR

Hey Bookends,

I have decided to participate in the Dewye’s 24 hour read-a-thon. Now I know what you’re thinking. “Ivy, you always say you will participate in read-a-thons and then only end up reading one book.” and you’re right. But this time is going to be different, or at least I plan it to be. I will be working for six hours during the day but other then when I’m doing that, or driving, I am going to be reading. I am also participating in the Spring Into Horror rea-a-thon at the same time, you should check out that TBR to see what book I am reading for it. I will admit that these are rollovers from that TBR but there are others over there if you are interested. Dewey’s Read-a-thon take course over twenty four hours and starts at the same time for everyone. If you are interested in this read-a-thon check out the website for more information or to sign up. Now onto my TBR.

I am only planning on reading two books since I’m working:

  • Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
  • The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith

So that is all I have for this TBR. I would love to know if you are participating and what books you will be reading. Follow me on goodreads and Instagram to see what I am reading daily. Thanks for reading.
