May Owl Crate

Hey Bookends,

How are you guys today? I got my Owl Crate earlier this week- and am excited to “unbox” my steampunk themed box for you guys today. If you would like to know more about the Owl Create subscription service then click the link here.

The first thing I pulled out of this month’s box was really cute little ring inspired by The Infernal Devices Series and created by Sparks Emporium. Even though I haven’t read the books yet I find this ring adorable and it perfectly fits my finger.

The next thing I pulled out of the box were these amazing nail wraps by Espionage Cosmetics. I chew my nails so I can’t put them on now but I am hoping to break that habit this summer, maybe just so I can wear these.

Next I received a beautiful skeleton necklace by Crystal Compass Designs. I love how it hangs on me and hope to find an outfit that it will work perfect with.

Then I got this cute little pin from Elope. Five different metal accessories were sent out and this is the one I received. I really like this design however I am not a big pin wearer.

This gorgeous print, a tribute  to J.M. Barrie, created  by Creative Daffodil Studios is the next thing I pulled out.

Finally we come to the book. Before we talk about it I would like to as you to please ignore my messy room in background, now back to the book. This month we received Everland by Wendy Spinale and from what I can tell this is a retelling of Peter Pan with Steampunk elements thrown in. Along with the book we received a note from the author and some really cool steampunk inspired temporary tattoos.

A new feature in the box is this little card which announces next months theme and gives a sneak peak a an item that will be in the box.

Here is everything in the box all together.

That is all I have for this post. I hope you found it entertaining. If you would like to see what I am reading daily follow me on goodreads and Instagram. Thanks for reading.

April Owl Crate

Hey Bookends,

How are you guys today? I got my Owl Crate last week and am excited to “unbox” my Dystopia themed box for you guys today. If you would like to know more about the Owl Create subscription service then click the link here.

First thing I pulled out of the box was this little magnet made by Half Blood Prints. There were two different magnets, both inspired by The Hunger Games but this is the one I received. I personally am not a huge fan of this series, however I did give this to a friend who really does enjoy it.

Next this I pulled out was this cute coaster by Evie Bookish. I seriously love this thing. I think that it is so pretty and looks so goo on my shelf (where I place my water bottle). This was inspired by the book Shatter Me.

I then got this really cute Mockingjay bracelet by The Geeky Cauldron. Again I gave this to a friend, however I do have a Harry Potter bracelet similar to this that I bought myself and I love it. The bracelet is strong, durable, and comfortable.

I then saw this adorable, 1984 inspired, notebook with blank pages inside. I don’t exactly know what I will use it for, however I always need another notebook .

Next came this cool wall decal inspired by The Maze Runner. I haven’t read the book yet but I really like the idea of having a wall decal from a favorite book.

I then saw this lovely poster with a quote from The Star-Touched Queen. Again I haven’t read this book yet, but I am interested.

Finally to our book. This is Flawed by Cecelia Ahern, a dystopian novel where everyone must be perfect. This came with a letter from the author and a mini poster. This book looks really interesting. I can’t wait to read it.

This is everything in the box.

That is all I have for this post. I hope you found it entertaining. If you would like to see what I am reading daily follow me on goodreads and Instagram. Thanks for reading.

March Owl Crate

Hey Bookends,

I received my March Owl Crate earlier this week and can’t wait to show you guys what I got! If you would like to know more about the Owl Create subscription service then click the link here. This was another amazing box that we are about to dive into.

This theme for this month’s box is Writer’s Block. To go along with the theme was this little booklet called 642 tiny things to write about and is from Chronicle Books. I was flipping through the prompts and found many of them to be a little funny and quirky while others are serious and thought provoking. I thought this notebook was really cute

The next thing I pulled out of the box was this pair of banned books socks by Out of Print. These are really cute.

I then pulled out this adorable fake quilled pen from Kikkerland.

Next came these cute little pins which have quotes about reading on them. These are a custom pack made just for Owl Create and were made by Bookworm Boutique. I thought that these were so cute, I put my favorite one on the lanyard with my keys on it (which I wear all the time.)

And finally we have the book. This month we received The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner (goodreads page here) The book seems to be a coming of age story, which is a genera I really enjoy. The book also came with a letter from the author and a post card which seems to only make sense to those who have read the book.

So that is everything in the crate!

That is all I have for this post. I hope you found it entertaining. If you would like to see what I am reading daily follow me on goodreads, Instagram, and Twitter. Thanks for reading.

February Owl Crate

Hey Bookends,

It is time for another Owl Crate unboxing. I would like to warn you guys that I don’t have the information card with me right now so I may not be as specific about the things in the box but I will do the best I can. If you would like more information about the box click here to go to the official website. This month’s box was really awesome and I can’t wait to show you what was inside.

The theme of this moth’s box was science fiction, so it was a logical thing to pull out this wooden, Doctor Who tardis magnet made by vectorengraving. I seriously love Doctor Who and thought that this was a wonderful addition to the box and that the design is beautiful.

The next object was hard not to notice. It is a small, light pink tote bag which has all of the couples from the Lunar Chronicles on the front. I love this bag so much, I have decided to put it in my car and make it the bag with which I will carry my books with. It is a great size, not huge but big enough to fit multiple books, and if I am remembering right the bag was designed by the Owl Crate staff themselves.

So something new in this month’s box (at least for me) is that it contained two books. Sense the theme is science fiction they decided to send the first science fiction novel ever published. Now I don’t believe that I have ever read this book, maybe in school, but it sounds really interesting. (goodreads page here)

Finally we have our last/official book of the box and it is a 2016 debut novel! The book is The Love that Split the World and it came with a note from the author and a signed sticker (I know there is another name for it but I can’t remember what it is called.) From what I can tell this book is a contemporary time travel novel about how a girl must save a boy in order to save the world. (goodreads page here)

So that is all that was in this month’s crate. I thought that there were a lot of cool items and really like that they included two books.

That is all I have for you guys today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Follow me on goodreads and Instagram to see what I am reading daily. Thank you for reading.

January Owl Crate

Hey Guys, I received another Owl Crate and would love to show you guys what was inside. Click the link here to go to the website and find out more information about the boxes.

First thing I pulled out of my box this month was a Harry Potter inspired lip balm. It is from Geek Fire Labs on etsy and smells like white chocolate mint which is an amazing smell. Its called Patronus and is really moisturizing for my lips.

The next thing I pulled out of my box was this really cute full size Funko Pop figure. I received Dumbledore but there were four other Harry Potter figures which someone could get. I love this so much, Dumbledore is currently guarding my books on my book self.

Photo Jan 16, 11 27 01 AM

I then pulled out a book mark with a beautiful quote from The Raven Boys printed on both sides. I also pulled out an art print with a quote from the book Throne of Glass. Both of these items were made by Evie Bookish and although I haven’t read either of these books yet they are on the list and I will use both of these items.

Next I found a coupon for half off of the book A Knot in the Grain by Robin McKinley for any e-book. I personally will not be using this so the first person to email me at gravesivy@aol.com can get this book for half off.

Photo Jan 16, 11 33 34 AM

And finally we come to the book that was in this box. With the book we received a paper doll kit and an exclusive letter from the author. The book we received is Worlds of Ink and Shadow (goodreads summery here) by Lena Coakley. From what I can tell this book is about the Bronte siblings getting sucked into their own stories. That sounds really interesting.

I am really happy with everything in this crate and hope you enjoyed seeing what was in it too.

Photo Jan 16, 5 11 54 PMSo that is all I have for this post. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Follow me on goodreads and instagram  to see what I am reading daily and get some failed pictures which include my dog getting in the way. Thank you so much for reading.

December Owl Crate

Hey Bookends,

My dad got me a 6 month subscription to Owl Crate for Christmas! So I thought that I would make a post in which I show you guys everything that was in the box. Let’s get into it.

The fist thing I got was this cute little notebook in which I can write what I am reading, my ratings, and my thoughts on the book. A lot of people like to compare this to a written goodreads. I think that this is super cute and am really excited to use this.

The next thing I got was this really cute to do list with an octopus reading in the corner. I have already filled out the first two pages and think that this will really help me stay on track with all the things I need to do.

I then pulled out this really cute magnet with the Little Prince on the front. I love the art on the magner but I don’t have any magnetic surface to put it on.

I also got this really awesome candle from Frostbeard Studio. This candle smells like coffee and chocolate which I find amazing.

The final thing in the box is obviously the book. This book came with a magnet set in which the information card said is to make poems. The book I received is Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott (goodreads summery here) which seems to be a historical fiction set in the Renaissance.

I am super excited about this book and really everything in this box. If you would like more information about Owl Crate then this link will take you to their website.

So that is all that I received in my December Owl Crate. I hope you enjoyed this post and will friend me on goodreads or perhaps follow me on Instagram. Thank you so much for reading.
