Magonia by Maria Headley

I gave this book 4.5/5 stars.

This book was just amazing. The whole concept of this book is based off of mythology but not in the cliché way of gods. I can’t tell you anything else without spoiling it so I’ll stop talking about that. The character development for the main characters was amazing. I could see each character grow as the book went on. I also liked the world building. I would have liked to see more of the world though. But this is where it got confusing. The ending of this book set up for a sequel. And it wasn’t one of third endings where there could be a sequel but doesn’t have to. The main character herself said that “This isn’t over yet”. I took off half a star because I felt as if some things in this book were predictable. I’m not saying that too much of the book was predictable but I could see some of these things come ahead of time. Overall the book was really good and recommend it to anyone who likes mythology, fantasy, and adventure type books.
